November 2020 general election voting info

VOTING BY MAIL/ABSENTEE BALLOT

  • Fill out a request form for your ballot online at NMVOTE.ORG

  • Ballots will be mailed starting 10/6.

  • The last day to request an absentee ballot is 10/20 , but do so ASAP!

  • When completed, we recommend you deposit your ballot in a drop box rather than mailing it back.

  • Drop box locations: the County Courthouse on Albright Street (outside). And at Questa Municipal Hall, Peñasco Community Center, and El Prado Water & Sanitation District Office (inside the buildings during early voting hours). 

  • DROP YOUR BALLOT OFF AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

EARLY VOTING

  • Starts 10/6 at the Taos County Courthouse (County Commission chamber), from 8 am - 5 pm Mon - Fri and on Sat 10/31.  

  • Starts 10/17 at Questa Municipal Hall, Peñasco Community Center, and El Prado Water & Sanitation District Office, Tues – Sat 10 am – 6 pm.

  • You can vote or drop off your absentee ballot at any of these locations no matter where you live in Taos County.

ELECTION DAY, NOVEMBER 3

  • Voting hours will be 7 am – 7 pm at 30 polling stations including the County Courthouse. A list will be published later; they are the frequently used locations.

  • BIG CHANGE: Taos County residents can vote at any of the polling places on election day (not just in your precinct).

TO REGISTER OR CHANGE VOTER REGISTRATION

  • Do this at NMVOTE.ORG or with a voter registration agent (VRA) by 10/6. 

  • VRAs are ready to assist 10 am – 12 pm Mon - Sat at the Taos County Democratic Party Headquarters (corner of Paseo del Pueblo Sur & Cruz Alta). Drive up in front of the building.

  • After 10/6 register at the County Clerk’s office, where you can vote after registering - same day registration and voting ends 10/31.
